Welcome to Physics, Jaguars!
As your teacher, I’m excited to help you view your world through the eyes of a physicist; to explain real world phenomenon you experience every day, from playing soccer to snapping-something-or-other on your cell, from riding a bike to bowling. My goal is to help you to love physics this year, and to build conceptual understandings that will support all your endeavors throughout your career and life.
My background includes 35 years as an engineer and engineering manager. Before retiring from that career, I earned my teaching certificate, because I love being a part of our public schools, working with students and helping them get the same enjoyment that I do from learning science, math, and technology. When not working, I’m usually doing something with my wife of 33 years, Lauren, or my kids, who are all Inglemoor graduates. I attended Mercer Island High school, the UW (BS mechanical engineering), MIT (MS mechanical engineering), and Northwest University (masters in teaching).
Throughout the year I’ll be using Synergy as our central location for posting homework and due dates, and class materials will be posted on my website. Parents have access to the website and need to request permission from the school to access Synergy through ParentVue.
