Flu Season - Prevention
Flu season is upon us! Help prevent the flu with the information in the brochure below.
Update on Immunizations for 2020-2021
In light of the pandemic, if a student cannot meet the immunization requirements by the first day of school and a student is fully participating in remote learning, the school will not exclude that student from school. The enrolled student would be served remotely until the appropriate time when all students are back in school buildings. At that time, according to state law, the student must meet immunization requirements. Please know that students will be unable to receive in-person instruction until their required immunizations are completed and appropriate documentation is submitted. Changes to state immunization rules for schools and childcare centers became effective as of Aug. 1, 2020. Visit our District website to learn more about these changes.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
The State of Washington schedules students in grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th for routine vision and hearing screening.
Please notify the nurse if you wish to excuse your child from the screening.
Volunteers are needed to help with vision and hearing screening. Please notify the nurse if you would like to volunteer. No prior experience necessary.
Substitute Nurses Needed
Are you a Registered Nurse who might be interested in exploring the rewards of school based nursing, supplementing work hours or simply maintaining nursing licensure credentials? We would love to discuss available opportunities as a substitute school nurse with the Northshore School District -- this is a great way to transition into community nursing with K-12 school age children.
Contact Rebecca Cavanaugh, Health and Nursing Supervisor, Northshore School District at (425) 408-7728 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Jean Christensen, RN
My name is Jean Christensen and I am pleased to be the School Nurse at North Creek High School. My goals are to keep our students safe and healthy, to manage health problems as they arise, and to be a resource and advocate for families in our North Creek Community. To help me achieve these goals, please keep me updated of any changes regarding your child’s health and be sure to inform the office staff if there are changes in your emergency contact information.
To the left you will find links to information on things like Medications at School, Immunizations and how to decide when to keep your child home from school. I hope the information is helpful.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
