Prearranged Absences
When known in advance that a student will be absent for several days, the absence should be prearranged. Parents/guardians are asked to keep in mind that an absence from school, even though work is made up, is not advisable unless absolutely necessary. Instruction may not be repeated and could adversely affect a student's final grade.
Parents and students are strongly encouraged to review the school calendar when scheduling activities such as vacations. When this is not possible and a student must miss several days of school, the student should:
- Pick-up Prearranged Absence Contract at the attendance office a week before the absence or click on the button below labeled View Prearranged Absence Contract to view a printable copy.
- Parent/guardian signs request form at bottom.
- Student returns completed form to the attendance office prior the absence period. Prearranged Absence Contracts are kept on file.
Once we have the form, the Principal will review the request and determine if the absences will be Excused or Unexcused. Please understand that missing school because plane tickets are cheaper will be considered Unexcused in all situations.
