When do I Register?
Current Students
Course registration for incoming 9th graders and for current 9th, 10th and 11th graders happens each year starting in February and extending into March. Once the regular registration window closes, no changes will be made to course request sheets.
Students New to the District
New State Law: Automatic Enrollment
Washington State has passed a law that requires automatic enrollment in advanced classes should a student pass state standardized tests (SBAC, WCAS) or pass an advanced class. All families have the option to opt out of this requirement. Opting out still allows for selecting advanced classes. Please review the documents below for more information.
- Incoming 9th Graders (current 8th)

- Incoming 12th Graders (current 11th)
The Opt-Out of Automatic Advancement form is part of the Registration packet but you can also download it from the links below in your language of choice:

If your language is not listed, you can access the English version of the form in Google Docs. Then choose Tools and Translate to translate to another language.

Currently, all high schools and some middle schools use a combination of paper or electronic planning sheet and online course selection in order for students to choose courses for the next school year. Once students have completed course selection entries, receiving school will lock these entries and allow time for families to review before the selections become final. The final version of selections will be saved by the school and kept on file for a reference to a students original selections. For instructions on how to enter courses on StudentVue click here.
2024-2025 Student Course Schedules
Student schedules will change frequently from now until the first week of September. Final schedules will be made available/live the day before school starts on Tuesday, September 3.
Any student schedules you may see posted in StudentVUE (or elsewhere) between now and then are not accurate and subject to change.

Schedule Changes
Choices made by students during registration are considered to be final. Courses offered and school staffing are based on the decisions students make during the registration process. However, schedule changes may be made on an extremely limited basis for the following reasons:
- A graduation requirement must be added
- A student does not have the skills to continue in a year-long class
- Administrative withdrawal is requested
- Incomplete schedule
- Duplicate classes/obvious errors
- IEP/ELL placement issues
Any schedule change that does not meet these criteria is subject to denial. Remember, full year courses are just that: full year.
