Letter of recommendation requests/Jag Brag sheet
If you are interested in getting a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) for colleges or future jobs, you must fill out a "Jag Brag" sheet. Here are the steps you should take to for the process:
- Please make sure you allow at least 21 days for the person writing your recommendation letter, as there are a lot of requests being made of them at the same time.
- Make sure you need a Letter of Rec in the first place. Do you need a teacher? A counselor? Find this info on the college's website under admission requirements.
- All Common App schools need something from a counselor. This might be a letter, or some forms, or both. Plan on connecting with your counselor at least 21 days in advance of your deadline in order to get them what they need.
- For teachers, ask first, and then if they agree add the request to Naviance. The easiest place to this is towards the bottom of your "Colleges I Am Applying To" page. Make sure to get your Jag Brag to them at least 21 days in advance.
The easiest way to do the Jag Brag is to open it using the button below, and then download a copy onto your drive that you can work on and print when you are ready. If you don't download it, you'll have to do it in one session and print it. It will not save your progress when it is online.
