Meet the Coaches

Coach Richard Abiador

Coach Abiador has been playing volleyball since he was in 11th grade, where he developed a passion for the sport. Since then, he played with various volleyball clubs and on the Guam National Team, where he was a 1994 Micronesia Games Gold Medalist.

Coach Abiador has been coaching a combination of club and high school volleyball for thirty years. While coaching at Redmond HS, his team placed 2nd in KingCo 3A. He became the North Creek Head Coach when our school opened in 2017. Since then, North Creek has been 3x KingCo 4A Champs, with 3 State Appearances (placing 13th, 9th and 5th).

Coach Abiador believes in focusing on people first and building relationships. By understanding an athlete's individual goals, as well as helping them know and accept their role on their team, athletes learn how to succeed; especially in that team environment. Competitive volleyball is a great venue for an athlete's positive personal growth and developing life skills.

His personal interests include fitness and exercise, increasing mental health awareness, growing sunflowers, helping his wife with her garden and helping his children with their endeavors.
