Hello everyone! I'm happy to share a little bit about myself and let you know that I absolutely love getting to teach in the mid-level program for special education. I have been teaching for the past 25 years (mostly at the high school level) Both in the classroom and in community based instruction in transition programs. I began my teaching in Portland public schools and worked with many students in transition to adulthood. I have focused my work on supporting students who navigate their educational lives with neurodiversity and who navigate barriers to communication. The thing that I love the most about what I get to do is truly centered on the relationships that I have been able to build with students and their families. I love doing what I can to support student in their learning and progress towards self determination and self advocacy! I love to see my current and former students moving into meaningful post-secondary vocational placements and education. It's my greatest desire to see people reaching to their fullest potential, and it's an honor to get to serve the families at North Creek High School.
