FSA- Functional Skills and Academics

The Functional Skills and Academics program is for our most impacted students. In this class, we work to develop essential functional skills and promote academic growth to empower students for successful transitions into post-high school education, employment, and independent living. The curriculum focuses on fostering independence, encouraging student voice and self-determination, while enhancing communication and social skills. North Creek and the FSA staff aim to ensure our students with high support needs feel a sense of belonging and inclusion within their school community. We do this through our peer coaching program, unified sports program, Best Buddies club branch, co-teaching partnerships, and close collaboration between general education teachers, special educators, specialists, and administrators; all to increase and meaningful general education integration.
